Once every three years, the best bakers from around the world gather in Paris, France to compete for the prestigious World Baking Cup. The United States team surprised everyone and won the gold in the previous battle and they are confident they will win again. The French team, however, is determined to prevail and win the title back.
To ensure their second consecutive win, Team USA arrived a week early to experiment with the French flour which has a different consistency to US flour. But they face some trouble when their dough is too sticky – will it cost them the cup?
Eleven countries compete in categories such as ‘Pastries’, ‘Breads’, ‘Specialty Breads’ and ‘Artistic Design’ where anything can – and probably will – happen in this fast-paced, awe-inspiring hour of culinary competition.
