Ken Hom travels to London to take on a Chinese takeaway in Finchley. Two of the takeaway's best customers are Rob and his mate, Amanda. Both claim that hectic work schedules and busy social lives leave them with little time to cook their own food and so they eat takeaways about five times a week. Amanda juggles two jobs, teaching children to dance and working in a bar, while Rob works long hours as a recruitment manager.
Ken spends a day with the duo to try to convince them that cooking your own Sichuan beef with garlic and chilli need not be a drama and take all night. But will he be able to beat the takeaway on price, speed and taste?
