Chef Simon Rimmer travels to March, in Cambridgeshire, to take on the onerous task of cooking a chicken doner kebab for takeaway fanatics Gavin and best mate, Darrell.
Gavin works long hours at a social club and has only one day off a week. He never cooks and is seriously considering removing the cooker from his kitchen. Gavin would rather relax and order food in from the local Chinese or kebab takeaway, and Darrell loves to join him.
Simon has his hands full as he tries to replicate the taste of a Turkish kebab in less time than it takes to order and deliver it.
