Ainsley Harriott knows a thing or two about cooking Caribbean food and he sets out to prove it today, as he takes on the takeaway in Battersea, South London. Carpenter Patrick and his partner, Shirley, a nail-bar manager, lead hectic lives as they both work shifts. When they do get some time together, they would rather spend their time on the sofa than in the kitchen and order takeaway food three to four nights a week. They don't believe that any chef could cook their favourite – jerk chicken – as well as their local takeaway because the secret of good Caribbean food is the long, slow marinating.
