Take on the Takeaway sees celebrity chefs on a mission to convince takeaway junkies to ditch the deliveries and make their own versions of classic takeaway meals. A top celebrity chef goes to the home of a kebab lover or a pizza addict to cook their favourite takeaway dish, aiming to beat the takeaway on time, cost and taste. Will they succeed in cooking their own versions of the takeaway in the time it would have taken from order to delivery, and at the same price or less? And will their dishes pass the all-important taste test and persuade the fast food fans that healthy and homemade is best? This fast-paced, fun new series aims to convert Britain, a nation of takeaway lovers, to equally quick, cheap and much-more healthy home-cooked food. Guest chefs include Ainsley Harriott (Ainsley’s Meals in Minutes), John Burton-Race (Great British Menu, Kitchen Criminals), Antonio Carluccio and Angela Hartnett (Kitchen Criminals).
