Luke Nguyen's Vietnam

About the Show

About the Show

With a huge extended family scattered throughout Vietnam, Luke is inspired to learn that they all have one thing in common – a love for food. On his journey of Vietnam’s southern region, Luke travels from Saigon, through the Mekong Delta, and north along the coast to the World Heritage-listed city of Hoi An. Along the way, we meet many of Luke’s relatives, who share with him the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine, and help him discover the tiny cottage industries that have been creating vital ingredients for many centuries.

Yes Lynne Wiblin I agree. I am a chef who has spent most of my life working in south east Asia and i am disgusted with the cheap shock tacktics luke resorted to to gain an audience for his show . I will never watch it again. It just shows what a neanderthalistic attitude these race of people still harbour and it seems it will take a mammoth effort to eradicat and educate these simple people to remove this form of cruelity from their very basic thinking. Wake up this is the 21st century!

Why, oh why, knowing that this show is to be shown in Australia, would you include a shot of a dog, roasted and then eaten. It made my stomach turn over, I felt sick, and I changed the channel immediately. Absolutely disgusting!!!!! It has made up my mind, to never, ever contemplate visiting Vietnam.....and never ever watching this show again.

I love watching Luke travel through Vietnam, showing the beautiful towns, scenery and friendly people. Watching Luke cook such amazing food combinations is a thrill and I often watch with notebook at hand to write down the recipes. A brilliant and enjoyable series, thanks Luke!
