Cottage Pie


  • 1 onion chopped

  • 1 carrot chopped

  • 1 stick celery chopped

  • 500g mince beef

  • 50ml milk

  • 1kg potatoes

  • 100g butter

  • 1ltr mixed Vegeta Stock

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 glass red wine


  • 1.

    Peel and chop potatoes, just cover with cold water, bring to boil. Add salt then simmer for 30 minutes, drain well, mash, add butter, milk and salt and pepper.

  • 2.

    Fry the mince until all separated and starting to brown, splash the red wine and Worcester sauce into the mince and reduce.

  • 3.

    Add veggies, stock powder and water into the pan, bring to the boil and simmer for 1 hour.

  • 4.

    Place in a baking dish and top with the mashed potatoes. Slide under a hot grill for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
