• 2 sheets short crust pastry

  • 500ml golden syrup

  • 150g fresh breadcrumbs (crusts from the freezer vitamised)

  • Juice and zest of two lemons

  • Juice and zest of one lime


  • 1.

    Line a tart case with one sheet of pastry and cut the second piece into strips.

  • 2.

    In a saucepan, on a low heat, warm the syrup, combine the breadcrumbs and citrus then gently mix until all smooth.

  • 3.

    Pour the syrup mixture into the pastry case and top with the pastry strips, bake at 180 degrees for 50 minutes.

  • 4.

    Serve warm with ice cream.
