Mustard Chicken

Easy to make! Serve it with rice.


  • 125 ml brown sugar

  • 50 ml mustard powder

  • 2 ml salt

  • 125 ml vinegar

  • 250 ml boiling water

  • 50 ml flour

  • 50 ml sunflower oil

  • 250 ml mayonaise

  • 1 kg chicken pieces

  • Cheddar Cheese to sprinkle over


  • 1.

    Mix together the sugar, salt, mustard, flour and oil.

  • 2.

    Add the vinegar, mayonaise and boiling water to the sugar mixture.

  • 3.

    Arrange the chicken pieces neatly in a oven proof dish.

  • 4.

    Pour the mixture over the chicken in the dish.

  • 5.

    Sprinkle over the cheese.

  • 6.

    Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180C for 2hrs.


Spoon off any access oil from the chicken before serving.
