Combining citrus, spice and sugar, this mulled wine recipe is deliciously aromatic and perfect for the winter months..


  • 1 bottle of red wine

  • 4 tbs muscovado sugar

  • 100ml brandy

  • 300ml ginger wine

  • 1 orange, sliced

  • 1 lemon, sliced

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • pinch of nutmeg

  • large pinch of cayenne pepper

  • 3-4 cloves

    Mix all the ingredients in a large saucepan and let the wine mull until just near boiling. Do not let the wine boil as the alcohol will evaporate.
