This is a twist on both the vegetarian and meat style lasganas, it includes both versions

Ingredients

  • 4 x fresh Lasagna sheets

  • 1 x 500 ml jar Romano pasta sauce

  • 500 g minced beef

  • basil (fresh or dried) to taste

  • small tub ricotta

  • packet frozen spinach

  • 3 x tblsp plain flour

  • 3 x tblsp butter or marjarine

  • 1 3/4 cups milk

  • pepper to taste

  • 1 cup shredded tasty cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

Method

  • 1.

    Brown mince

  • 2.

    Add basil and pasta sauce

  • 3.

    Simmer for 15 minutes

  • 4.

    Add ricotta stir in well and remove from heat

  • 5.

    In another saucepan melt the butter

  • 6.

    Add flour and stir until mixed

  • 7.

    Cook for 1 to 2 minutes be careful not to burn

  • 8.

    Remove from heat and stir in milk

  • 9.

    Return to heat stirring until thick

  • 10.

    Add pepper and shredded tasty cheese

  • 11.

    Squeeze excess water from frozen spinach, add to cheese sauce and stir until mixed

  • 12.

    Grease a lasagna dish

  • 13.

    Layer one lasagna sheet on bottom of dish

  • 14.

    Add third of the meat and third of the chees sauce

  • 15.

    Spread over lasgana sheet

  • 16.

    Continue layering in this order

  • 17.

    Layer 4th lasgana sheet and top with shredded mozzarella

  • 18.

    Loosely cover with alfoil and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes or until cheese has melted
