A home made version of a popular bakery item of my childrens


  • 500g minced meat

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 1-2 tsp mixed herbs

  • 2 Tblsp worcheshire sauce

  • 1 tsp beef stock if you need more flavour

  • 1-1 1/2 cups water

  • 1-2 tbsp cornflour dissolved in 1/2 cup water to thicken mixture

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • grated cheese

  • chopped bacon

  • Puff pastry


  • 1.

    Cool mixture before spreading on pastry, as the bottom of the pastry will go soggy if mixture is hot.

  • 2.

    Line a Lamington tin with baking paper or spray with cooking spray.

  • 3.

    Cut puff pastry to line the bottom of tray.

  • 4.

    Spread cooled mince mixture over the base of pastry, cover with a top layer of puff pastry, sprinkle with grated cheese and chopped bacon.

  • 5.

    Pre heat oven at 200 C and cook for 20-30mins or until pastry is golden brown

this is the biggest icon of Murray Bridge besides the bunyip that is...every kids canteen favourite,savoury slice in a flat roll with sauce...Yum!!
