Stroganoff style sauce flavoured with bacon, mushrooms and cream with flat pasta.


  • 250 g Mushrooms

  • 1 medium onion

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 250 g packet of rindless bacon trimmed and chopped.

  • Red capsicum

  • small carton of sour cream or 200 ml

  • 2 tablspoon of tomato paste

  • 1 tablespoon of gravox powder mixed in1 cup of water.

  • 1 chicken stock cube

  • 500 g packet of flat ribbon style pasta cooked and drained.


  • 1.

    Saute chopped onions and garlic with bacon until just browning. Add chopped capsicum and sliced mushrooms and cook for a few minutes. Add tomatoe paste, stock cube and continue cooking for another minute. Add gravox and stir until it comes to a simmer and simmer for a few minutes. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Add cooked and drained pasta to pan and toss through. Serve at once.

For a perfectly cooked beef strogonoff pan fry or BBQ grill premium quality steak until medium rare and after allowing to rest for 5 minutes slice up and serve on top of pasta. For a lower fat alternative use lite sourcream or lite cream cheese instead.
