This is an incredibly easy and fast recipe to delight your family members with, especially fussy eaters! Children really enjoy it because it has a slight spicey flavour but also is sweet and creamy....especially with mashed potatoes.


  • 1 kg chicken pieces (drumsticks are probably the best, especially for children)

  • 1 packet dried french onion soup (40gm)

  • 1 tablespoon fruit chutney (home brands are good)

  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam

  • 1 dessertspoon curry powder

  • 300ml thin cream (1 x small carton)


  • 1.

    Preheat moderate oven.

  • 2.

    Mix all ingredients with the chicken pieces in a baking dish and cook for approx. 1 hour or until chicken is tender. Do not over cook or sauce will burn. Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. Enjoy!
