Delicious sausages cooked in tomatoe,onion and garlic sauce. Eat with rice and a side dish of lentils or yellow split peas.


  • 500g Sausages

  • 410g tin Chopped Tomoatoes with Onion and Garlic

  • 200g Tomatoe Puree

  • 2 Tablespoons Tomatoe Sauce

  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian Herbs (Dried) (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cummin powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger powder

  • Chilli powder(optinal) just for taste.

  • 1 Tablespoon oil


  • 1.

    Place oil,Italian herbs, Cummin and Ginger in cooking pot.

  • 2.

    Add sausages

  • 3.

    Cook on low heat for one minute.

  • 4.

    Place tin of Chopped Tomatoes, Tomatoe Puree

  • 5.

    Tomatoe Sauce, chilli and Worcestershire sauce in cooking pot.

  • 6.

    Lightly stir.

  • 7.

    Stir occassionaly ensuring sausages do not sick to pot.

  • 8.

    If so lower heat.

  • 9.

    Simmer for 20 minutes until sausages are cooked.

  • 10.

    You may like to place a lid on the cooking pot as this dish likes to spit abit.


One shake of chilli is just for taste it will NOT make it hot.
Infact no one will know there is chilli in the dish.
Worcestershire sauce and Italian herbs are optional these will had flavour.
This is a very popular dish in Mauritius.
