Blackberry soup

a cool easy to eat summer desert from a time of living in England where black berries are plentiful and free.
Also you have the fun of blackberry picking to go with it.


  • 1 Kg of washed and picked over blackberries

  • 500 ml of water

  • .5 cup of sugar more or less to personal preference

  • 1 stick of cinnamon

  • 1 star annies

  • 1 vanilla pod


  • 1.

    Place all ingredients in saucepan.

  • 2.

    Bring to the boil.

  • 3.

    Simmer until blackberries are soft and mushy

  • 4.

    Press through strainer

  • 5.

    Chill until cold

  • 6.

    Serve in crystal bowls with whipped cream


This is even more delicious poured over ice cream or with a splash of blackberry wine added
