very tasty beef and vegetable casserole.


  • 1 kg shin beef, cubed into 2cm pieces

  • 1 onion sliced

  • 2 carrots sliceed into 1cm rounds

  • 2 potatoes, cubed into 1cm pieces

  • 4 cups beef stock

  • 3 tablespoons flour

  • pinch thyme

  • 2 tablespoon worchestershire sauce

  • 2 tablespoon soya sauce

  • Pepper to taste

  • salt to taste

  • cornflour to thicken

    Pre heat oven to 160 degrees. Coat the beef with flour, then brown in a frying pan. put in a casserole dish. Add all the other remaining ingredients. Except for sauces and stock. Toss to mix the beef and vegetables. Then add the worchestershire and soya sauces and beef stock. Salt and pepper. Bake covered for 1 to 2 hours, stirring twice. thicken 2 tablespoons of cornflour with cool water and stir through casserole to thicken, then put back into oven for 5 more minutes.
