These are so cute and easy to make. If you don't like almonds or for a nut free cookie for kids just use a different topping for example, cherries or choc drops.


  • 60g butter chopped

  • half a cup of plain flour - 80g

  • 1 tbs rice flour

  • 2tbs of icing sugar

  • 12 blanched almonds or other topping


  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 160 degrees

  • 2.

    Combine butter, flours and icing sugar until mixture forms a ball.

  • 3.

    Knead gently on floured surface until smoth.

  • 4.

    Roll 2 teaspoons of mixture into balls, place on a greased oven tray about 3 cm apart. Top each ball with almond.

  • 5.

    Bake in a moderately slow oven for about 20 minutes or until slightly brown.
