Very tasty sausage rolls best served for lunch or a snack, straight out of the oven with tomato relish.


  • 1 X 500g pack of sausage mince

  • 1 large onion (grated)

  • 2 carrots (grated)

  • 1 large apple (grated)

  • 1 teaspoon of parsley

  • 2 generous tablespoons each of tomato, plum and bbq sauces

  • .5 teaspoon of mixed herbs

  • .5 teaspoon salt and cracked pepper

  • Breadcrumbs to bind

  • 3-4 sheets of puff pastry

  • Egg white for glazing (usually need 2 egg whites)


  • 1.

    Combine all ingredients

  • 2.

    Cut defrosted puff pastry sheets in half and spoon mixture onto them

  • 3.

    Brush one side of the pastry sheet with egg white and fold the pastry over. Seal the two sides together by pressing a fork along the pastry edge.

  • 4.

    Glaze the top of the sausage roll with egg white and make shallow cuts along the top of the roll with a knife.

  • 5.

    Cut the roll into small bite sized pieces and place onto an oven tray (lined with Glad Bake and lightly greased).

  • 6.

    Cook for about 30-35mins on 180deg fan forced oven or until cooked.

Why does this recipe not have any comments?! I just finished making these & they are bloody fantastic! Only thing I tweaked was adding 1/2 tsp of crushed garlic to the mince.
