  • 400g tinned whole tomatoes

  • 1 tspn sugar

  • 1/2 tspn salt

  • 1 Tblspn minced garlic

  • 425 g tuna, drained well

  • 2 Tblspns Olive Oil

  • 6 Basil leaves, torn

  • freshly grated parmesan for servin


  • 1.

    Place tomatoes into a small saucepan, add the salt, sugar & garlic. Do not stir, crush or do anything, just place lid on.

  • 2.

    Set cook top on lowest possible setting and leave for 30 mins.

  • 3.

    Take off lid, use a masher & squish, add the tuna, mix around and put lid back on for 15 mins.

  • 4.

    Cook pasta according to insructions. When cooked, drain.

  • 5.

    Take tomato tuna mix off heat, pour in the olive oil & basil.

  • 6.

    Dress the drained spaghetti with tuna sauce, sprinkle with the parmesan.
