Asian Style Turkey mince

This is a very quick, easy dish that is flavorsome. My husband and I enjoy traditional larb. I invented this dish as an alternative so my children would eat it.


  • 500 grams Turkey mince (can be beef or chicken)

  • 2 cups of rice

  • 1 red onion sliced thinly

  • 1 bunch of coriander chopped

  • 1.5 tablespoons of fish sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce

  • 2 tablespoons of soya sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of ginger

  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon of seasoning sauce (optional)


  • 1.

    Place mince in bowl with fish sauce, soya, ginger, oyster and lime juice (seasoning sauce if used ) to marinate for about 20 minutes.

  • 2.

    Put rice on to cook

  • 3.

    Tip entire bowl contents (including sauce mixture) into fry pan and dry fry (no oil)

  • 4.

    Cook mixture for approx 10 minutes do not over cook

  • 5.

    Add sliced onion 1 minute before mince is cooked

  • 6.

    When cooked add coriander and stir through.

  • 7.

    Remove mince from pan serve in bowl on top of rice and garnish with coriander


You can adjust the sauce qtys according to your taste.
I use maggi seasoning sauce to provide a sweeter taste to the dish.

Great recipe. My husband has had a heart attack and now doesn't eat red meat and hard to find recipes with turkey mince. We really liked this one so thank you.
