Elle's Spicy Potatoes

Saute├ęd Potatoes in Indian Spices. A quick after-work side dish


  • 3-4 Large Potatoes

  • 2 Teaspoons of Cumin

  • 2 Teaspoons of Ground Coriander

  • 1 Teaspoon Tumeric

  • 1 Teaspoon chilli powder

  • 1 Teaspoon black mustard seeds

  • 1 Teaspoon Fennel seeds

  • 1/4 cupPeanut Oil

  • Chopped fresh coriander


  • 1.

    Microwave the potatoes until cooked, in their jackets. Approximately 12 minutes

  • 2.

    Dice potatoes into cubes, about 1 or 2 cm's big.

  • 3.

    Heat oil in a frypan and add all the dried spices, cook until fragrant.

  • 4.

    Be careful of the mustard seeds as they will pop.

  • 5.

    Add the cooked potatoes and fry until golden brown.

  • 6.

    Don't worry if you've mushed up the pototes, it will make them tastier.

  • 7.

    Plate and sprinkle with fresh coriander


Great served with Lamb, Fish or any other protein
