a good home cooked fried rice


  • 50ml peanut oil

  • 3 eggs, whisked

  • ½ cup small prawns – cooked

  • ½ cup shallots, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup peas

  • 200g BBQ Pork, diced (Char Sui from Asian restaurant)

  • Cooked long grain rice (approx 2 – 3 cups)

  • Good pinch salt

  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon sugar


  • 1.

    Heat wok and add oil.

  • 2.

    Pour in egg, stir until just cooked.

  • 3.

    Add rice – toss well and break up with the egg.

  • 4.

    Add salt, pepper and sugar. Toss well.

  • 5.

    Add rest of ingredients – toss well until heated through.
