An Aussie favourite with a chewy texture that is really easy to make. They keep well in an airtight container.
Preheat oven 140 degrees celcius.
Melt butter and syrup over low heat. Then add the bicarbonate soda. Let it cool.
Sift the dry ingredients and pour in butter mixture. Mix well.
Roll a tablespoon of dough into a ball and place onto the tray. Flatten dough a bit with a spoon or fork.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
