A golden oldie from my youth. All cooked in one pot and most items you will have on hand


  • 1 cup uncooked rice

  • 1 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1 cup corn (fresh, canned, frozen)

  • 375 gr mince

  • 2 cup tomato puree/tomato soup

  • 1 cup stock or water

  • 4 rashers bacon

  • Salt & pepper


  • 1.

    Use a casserole dish with lid.

  • 2.

    Layer and season between each layer, cover with lid

  • 3.

    Cook 1¼ hours – moderate oven


You can also add frozen peas.
