A delectable dessert of maple syrup, caramelised bananas and pecans poured over creamy vanilla ice cream.


  • 1 ripe banana

  • 100g/ 3½ oz butter

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecan nuts

  • Maple syrup

  • 100ml/ 3½ fl oz Double cream

  • Vanilla ice-cream


  • 1.

    Heat the butter in a frying pan and sauté the bananas. Then add the nuts and maple syrup. Reduce and then add the cream. Pour over the vanilla ice cream and serve immediately.
