Enjoy these tender, oven-roasted ribs basted in an Asian inspired sweet, sticky savoury sauce!
Preheat the oven to 150C/300F/Gas Mark 2.
Put the spare ribs in a baking dish and sprinkle on both sides evenly with salt and pepper. Put into the oven and cook for 1 hour.
Remove from oven. The spareribs can be done in at least four hours in advance up to this point.
Combine the sauce ingredients together in a blender and mix well.
Make a charcoal fire in the barbecue or preheat the oven grill to high. When the charcoal is ash white or the oven grill is very hot, baste the ribs on both sides with the sauce ingredients and grill for 10 minutes on each side.
Serve at once.
