These grown-up chocolates taste just like Christmas. They are easy to make and taste delicious with coffee or after-dinner drinks.

  • 568ml double cream

  • 2 mulled wine sachets

  • Pared zest 1 orange

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 150g plain chocolate

  • 50g dried cranberries

  • 1.

Place the cream, mulled wine sachets, zest and cinnamon into a large saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and leave to cool completely.

  • 2.

Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a bowl. Return the cream to the boil and pour it over the chocolate through a sieve. Mix until it has melted then stir in the cranberries. This ganache mixture will make about 35 truffles. When the mixture has cooled, roll them into balls and dust them with cocoa powder.
