A wonderfully flavoured pistachio ice-cream recipe for those looking for a more adventurous dessert option.


  • 150 ml Greek yoghurt

  • 150 ml crème fraiche

  • 1 tsp  saffron strands soaked in a teaspoonful of milk

  • Sugar to taste

  • ½ powdered cardamom

  • 3 tbsp pistachio nuts, crushed

  • Honey to taste


  • 1.

    Combine the yoghurt, crème fraiche, saffron, sugar and cardamom and beat until blended, for a couple of minutes. Mix in half the pistachios and spoon into 4 serving bowls.

  • 2.

    Serve slightly chilled sprinkled with the remaining pistachios. Drizzle with honey to taste.
