Coconut and Garlic Fireball Chutney

Also called 'lasne chitni'.


  • 150g (5 oz) dessicated coconut

  • 6 large cloves of fresh garlic, peeled

  • 2 tablespoons chilli powder (or less if you want a mild chutney)

  • salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon mango powder (amchoor)


  • 1.

    Whizz the dessicated coconut in a blender or coffee mill to reduce it to a coarse powder.

  • 2.

    Put the rest of the ingredients in into the blender or coffee mill and whizz until well blended and grainy.

  • 3.

    Store in a clean glass jar and serve with everything!
