Boozy Scottish Mocha


  • 400ml/14fl oz milk

  • 50g/2oz 70% dark chocolate, roughly chopped

  • 50ml/2fl oz strong coffee

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 30ml/1fl oz Scotch whisky

  • 1 orange, zest only

  • 100ml/3½fl oz double cream, whipped (to float)


  • 1.

    Place the milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil.

  • 2.

    Add the chocolate, coffee and cinnamon to the milk, whisking constantly.

  • 3.

    Add the vanilla and whisky, you can add sugar to taste at this point.

  • 4.

    Place a couple of strips of orange zest in bottom of a glass.

  • 5.

    Pour hot drink mixture into serving glasses over the orange zest and top with whipped cream.
