  • 450g (16oz) purple sprouting broccoli

  • For the Dressing

  • 4 whole garlic cloves, peeled

  • 5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • pinch dried chilli flakes

  • 6 anchovy fillets, chopped

  • ½ lemon, juiced

  • To Serve

  • toasted Ciabatta


  • For the broccoli:

  • 1.

    Steam the broccoli for 5 to 6 minutes or until tender.

  • For the Dressing:

  • 1.

    Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the garlic.

  • 2.

    Fry the garlic until golden then remove and discard.

  • 3.

    Add the chilli flakes and anchovies to the oil and cook until anchovies break down.

  • 4.

    Season and add the lemon juice.

  • To Serve:

  • 1.

    Place the steamed broccoli on a plate and pour over the dressing. Serve with toasted Ciabatta.
