Pork and Bean Hoisin Stir-Fry

This ready-in-a-flash pork stir-fry makes a fantastic midweek supper. To vary it, try using duck or chicken in place of pork.


  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 pork chop, off the bone, cut into chunks

  • 1 shallot, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp fresh ginger, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp fresh chilli, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp sugar

  • Pinch salt

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 115g (small) tin kidney beans

  • Juice of 1 lemon

    Heat oil in a wok. Fry off the pork. Add shallots, ginger, chilli, garlic, sugar, salt, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, beans, and lemon juice.

    Stir and reduce, and serve.
