This Mediterranean recipe would make a really yummy brunch or afternoon snack, especially if served with a side order of sunshine and a sea view.


  • 200g block of feta, drained

  • 4 figs

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 4 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp walnuts

  • 2 thick slices grilled raisin or fruit bread

  • Icing sugar to serve


  • 1.

    Cut the feta into 2 thin slices. Cut the figs in half.

  • 2.

    Heat the butter and honey in a small non-stick frypan and fry the feta. Then add the figs, cut-side down, for 1 minute.

  • 3.

    Place on grilled fruit bread, and drizzle with the honied pan juices. Scatter with walnuts and dust with icing sugar.
