The saltiness of the Serrano ham perfectly compliments the flavour of ripe melon making this a great appetizer for any dinner party.


  • 12 Slices Serrano ham

  • 0.25 fresh ripe Rockmelon

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • freshly ground black pepper


  • 1.

    Trim the ends of the rock melon, peel it and slice it into 1cm thick slices.

  • 2.

    Simply arrange the sliced ham on a large platter and pile the melon pieces into the middle.

  • 3.

    Add a splash of olive oil and a grind of pepper.

  • 4.

    This dish also works beautifully with figs.
