Try this delicious chocolate and peanut butter self-saucing pudding for your next dinner party dessert.


  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 2tsp vanilla extract

  • 70g unsalted butter,melted

  • 1 cup self raising flour

  • 1/4tsp baking powder

  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 cup caster sugar

  • 1/3 cup peanut butter, slightly heated so it is runny

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 cup boiling water


  • 1.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a 1.5L (6 cup-capacity) ovenproof pan.

  • 2.

    Combine the milk, egg, butter and vanilla and whisk to combine.

  • 3.

    Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder into a bowl. Stir through the sugar. Make a well in the centre then add butter mixture and stir until smooth. Pour batter into pan.

  • 4.

    Spoon over the peanut butter and swirl into batter with a butter knife to create a ripple.

  • 5.

    To make the sauce, combine the sugar and cocoa in a small bowl and sprinkle over the pudding mixture. Place the pudding onto a baking tray. Pour the boiling water over the pudding and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top is firm. Dust with the extra cocoa and serve with vanilla ice-cream.

This recipe is ridiculous! Where is the egg and vanilla suppossed to go... as someone that cooks I put them where I thought but after 1hourits still cooking as it’s an absolute mess!

I think the recipe needs to be re-written. There are mistakes through the method. And, can you please place the ingredients in order of use as it makes the recipe easier to follow. Thanks
