Chickpeas make a great snack. So, instead of buying the pre-salted, pre-flavoured kind at your supermarket, make your own tasty bites at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 x 400 gram can chickpeas

  • 2 x tablespoon tamari

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper

Method

  • 1.

    Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Rinse chickpeas in a colander until the water runs clear. Pat them dry in a tea towel.

  • 2.

    In a bowl add tamari, paprika and cayenne pepper and mix. Add in chickpeas and coat well.

  • 3.

    Place some baking paper on an oven tray and spoon chickpeas onto the tray, being mindful to drain any excess tamari mixture. Place chickpeas into the oven and baking for 20 minutes checking regularly to avoid them burning.
