These tasty sliders will fast become a family favourite. 


  • Beef Pattie

  • 500 g (17 oz) fresh lean beef mince

  • 1 egg

  • 1 small onion, finely diced

  • ½ small zucchini (courgette) grated finely (use a zester grater)

  • 70 g (21/3 oz) pumpkin grated finely (use a zester grater)

  • 1 heaped tablespoon finely chopped celery leaf or parsley

  • 1 slice of wholemeal bread, chopped finely

  • Slider Roll and Filling

  • 6 small slices of cheese

  • 6 wholemeal dinner rolls

  • Handful of baby spinach leaves, washed

  • 6 slices of tomato

  • 1 raw baby beetroot, peeled and grated

  • Good quality tomato sauce or mayonnaise

    Mix all ingredients for beef patties thoroughly, using a tablespoon form 12 balls and flatten into patties between palms of hands. Make 6 patties for one meal for 2 adults and 2 children, the other 6 can be frozen in an airtight container with greaseproof paper between them for another night, as long as the mince hasn’t been frozen previously.

    In a non-stick frypan, cook patties over a medium heat until well browned on one side, flip patties over and place a cheese slice on the cooked side of each to enable it to melt slightly.

  • 3.

    Assemble sliders with spinach leaves, tomato, beetroot and beef pattie, topping with a good quality tomato sauce or mayonnaise.

  • 4.

    Serve with chunky chips.
