Take your brownies to the next level with this incredible recipe. 


  • 350 g dark chocolate

  • 350 g butter

  • 300 g caster sugar

  • 4 free-range eggs, at room temperature

  • 200 g ground almonds

  • 200 g macadamias, roughly chopped

  • 150 g prunes, roughly chopped


  • 1.

    Preheat the oven to 160c and lightly oil and line a 30 x 20 baking tin with non-stick baking paper. Put the chocolate, butter, sugar in a heatproof bowl and place it over a saucepan of simmering water. Ensure the base of the bowl doesn't touch the water. Allow the ingredients to melt, stirring occasionally (Alternatively, melt in a microwave using a microwave-safe container). remove from the heat and set aside to cool for 10minutes.

    When cooled, whisk in the eggs and gently fold in the almonds, macadamias and prunes. Spoon the mixture into the tin and cook for 30minutes or until just firm to the touch.

    Remove from the oven and allow to cool, before turning out from the tin on to a wire rack. Cut into 5 x 5 pieces to serve.
