Who eats cake with a knife and fork anymore? Try this fun and portable party favourite.


  • 1 slab of white chocolate (200g)

  • Batter:

  • 4 eggs

  • 300ml sugar

  • 350ml flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 175ml milk

  • 100ml melted butter

  • Strawberry filling:

  • 250ml strawberry extract

  • 1 tsp red food colouring

  • 45g melted butter

  • 1.5 tbs cream cheese, room temperature

  • 150ml powdered sugar

  • Decoration:

  • Nonpareils

  • Popsicle sticks


  • 1.

    Whisk eggs and sugar until the mixture has thickened. Sift flour and baking powder and add to batter. Add the mixture of milk and melted butter. Bake in 180°C oven for 35–40 minutes. Test with tooth pick to see when the cake is done.

  • 2.

    Let it cool, you’ll have the best results if you wait until the next day to crumble the cake. Then break the cake into small crumbs.

  • 3.

    Prepare the filling. Mix the ingredients together. Add cake crumbs. Form round balls of the batter and put in the fridge to harden.

  • 4.

    Melt the chocolate.

  • 5.

    Stick popsicle sticks into the cake balls and dip in the chocolate. Shake off extra chocolate and decorate with nonpareils. Stick cake pops upright into floral or styrofoam and let them cool in the refrigerator.
