An inexpensive but healthy and filling meal for the whole family. 


  • ½ cup navy beans (drained)

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1tsp coriander

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup vegetable stock

  • Olive oil cooking spray

  • 600g ground turkey

  • 1 cup sweet onion

  • 1 ½ cup baby carrot (thinly sliced)

  • 1 ½ cup asparagus

  • 2 cups green cabbage (grated)

  • ½ sliced almonds

  • 1 ½ cup low-fat aged white cheddar (shredded)


  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

  • 2.

    Add navy beans, half the milk, turmeric, coriander, salt to a blender and puree until smooth.

  • 3.

    Set aside and stir in the rest of the milk and the vegetable stock.

  • 4.

    Preheat a non-stick frying pan on medium heat and lightly coat with spray.

  • 5.

    Sautee the turkey in batches until lightly browned, then transfer to a large casserole dish.

  • 6.

    Add remaining ingredients to the casserole dish, including the pureed bean mixture, and cover.

  • 7.

    Stir well to incorporate and bake for 25-30 minutes.
