Take a trip to France with this creamy white sauce. 


  • 100g Western Star Unsalted Butter

  • 100g plain flour

  • 400ml milk

  • 400ml Anchor Thickened Cream

  • 200g Perfect Italiano Grated Parmesan Cheese

  • Salt and pepper to season


  • 1.

    Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.

  • 2.

    Add flour, stir over low heat for 2 minutes, or until you have a smooth paste.

  • 3.

    Slowly add milk and thickened cream. Continue to stir until sauce is smooth and thick. Remove from heat and cover with a lid. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.

  • 4.

    Stir in the grated parmesan cheese.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.
