Camote Cue is a Philippino sweet Potato shallow fried with brown sugar


  • 8 medium sized Sweet Potatoes (camote)

  • 1 1/3 cup of oil Or 4 to 5 mm deep ¼ inch

  • ½ cup of brown sugar

  • 10 Timber skewers


  • 1.

    Peel the Camote and slice into ½ inch thick slices.

  • 2.

    Put the sugar on a plate.

  • 3.

    Gently press the Camote against the sugar on all sides

  • 4.

    In a pan, heat the oil. (Shallow fry)

  • 5.

    Place Camote into the oil and fry until all of the Camote are cooked, Test with skewer

  • 6.

    Put on timber skewers and serve, 0r place in bowl with forks.

  • 7.

    Masarap (A Tagalog word that means “Yummy”)


Camote Cue, a popular street food in the Philippines and sold as an on the go type food. It’s very nice to eat and could be served with a variety of foods and salads. It is made of shallow fried sweet potato coated in caramelized brown sugar then skewered before being served.
