Toffee Apple Cake

This gorgeous cake is the perfect center piece for a party. 


  • 115g SR Flour

  • 115g SR Wholemeal Flour

  • 100g  Soft Dark Brown Sugar

  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

  • 2tsp cinnamon

  • 80ml Sunflower Oil

  • 80ml Milk

  • 2 med eggs

  • 2 eating apples – peeled, cored and chopped into 1/2cm dice

  • 50g toffee- bashed into small pieces


  • 1.

    Butter a 2pt Pyrex bowl and dust with flour.

  • 2.

    Pre heat the oven to 180c / Gas 4

  • 3.

    In a bowl, mix the flours, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon.

  • 4.

    Beat together the oil, milk and eggs. Pour this onto the dry ingredients and stir to combine.

  • 5.

    Finally fold in the apples and toffee pieces.

  • 6.

    Pour in to the prepared dish.

  • 7.

    Bake for 50-60 minutes. Test the cake is cooked through by inserting a skewer. It should come out clean.

  • 8.

    Leave in the dish to cool for 10 minutes then turn the cake out. Leave to cool completely and decorate with apple pop cakes.
