Making a Brazilian feast to celebrate the World Cup?  Try this zesty, spicy chicken recipe.


  • 1kg chicken pieces, trimmed of fat

  • 1 lemon, juice and zest

  • 2 tsps McCormick chilli powder

  • 2 tsps McCormick oregano Leaves

  • 2 tsps McCormick cumin, ground

  • 1 tsp McCormick white pepper, ground

  • 2 tsp fresh garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • ½ cup fresh coriander, chopped

  • 4 cups cooked jasmine rice


  • 1.

    Score chicken pieces and place into a large freezer bag. Mix lemon juice, chilli, oregano, cumin, pepper, garlic and oil and pour over chicken and massage well.

  • 2.

    Marinade for at least 1 hour or overnight.

  • 3.

    BBQ or oven bake in a hot (200°C) oven for 25 minutes.

  • 4.

    Serve with lemon slices and on a bed of rice mixed with chopped coriander and lemon zest.
