Canapes can be so tasteless and greasy. These are great to serve with drinks and are so simple to make. If your guests are hungry you can always serve whole bagels topped with the curd cheese and salmon.


  • 10 fresh bagels not pre sliced

  • 400 g fresh curd Cheese or cream cheese

  • A large handful of fresh chive

  • 1 Lemon juice only

  • freshly ground black pepper

  • 400 g wild smoked Salmon

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil


  • 1.

    Slice the bagels into little rounds, across the diameter. Mix the curd cheese with some finely chopped chives, the lemon juice and black pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning and lemon. To assemble, spread each piece of bagel with the curd cheese, place a twist of salmon on top, sprinkle with some freshly cut chives, and finally add a drizzle of the best extra virgin olive oil you can afford.
