Tomato Chutney

Try this gorgeous chutney recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1.5kg tomatoes, diced

  • 3 white onions, peeled and diced

  • 3 green apples, peeled and diced

  • 1 cup cider vinegar

  • 225g brown sugar

  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper

  • ½ tsp. ground ginger

  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg

  • 1 handful of sultanas

  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp. cloves

  • 1 tbs. salt

Method

  • 1.

    Place all ingredients into a large pot and bring to the boil.

  • 2.

    Turn the heat down to medium and simmer for 1 ½ - 1 ¾

  • 3.

    Hours or until thick.

  • 4.

    Once cool, pour into sterile jars and refrigerate.
