Try this sparkling salad dish!


  • 1.5kg mince

  • 3 x tbsp. olive oil

  • 4 x brown onions

  • Pinch salt and pepper

  • 1 tsp. mixed herbs

  • 1 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp. tomato paste

  • 1.5 boxes barilla pasta

  • 200g butter

  • 700g parmesan cheese

  • 700g mozzarella cheese

  • 6 x eggs

  • 500ml milk

  • Cornflour (as required for thickening)

  • 700g tasty cheese


  • 1.

    In pan, cook mince pasta sauce (mince, olive oil, onions, herbs, salt, pepper, tomatoes and tomato paste)

  • 2.

    Cook pasta as mince is cooking

  • 3.

    To make white sauce; melt butter, add 6 beaten eggs, milk and cornflour, then add parmesan

  • 4.

    Add one layer of pasta, one layer of pasta sauce and one layer of mozzarella

  • 5.

    Continue this process for 3 layers

  • 6.

    Pour in white sauce, forking it through layers

  • 7.

    Top whole dish with tasty cheese

  • 8.

    Bake at 160 degree for 40 minutes until top layer is golden brown
