Preheat oven to 200C
Mix the butter, cream, vanilla sugar,salt and baking powder.
Slowly add the flour to make a soft dough.
Knead for a few minutes.
Roll the dough out thinly (about 1/8")
Cut into 15 cm triangles with a knife or a frilled rotary edge cutter by cutting 4 parallel lines horizontally across pastry and then dividing those "strips" into triangles.
Place a triangle in front of you with a wide edge facing you.
Add 1 teaspoon of jam at the wide edge and roll the triangle up over the jam. Form the roll into a crescent shape like a croissant.
Repeat with the rest of the triangles.
Bake the biscuits until golden.
Roll in caster sugar while still warm.
