Mum's Secret Gnocchi Napolitana

Try Anthony's delicious entree dish!


  • 6 x Desiree potatoes approx. 1 kg

  • 1 x egg

  • Plain flour

  • 1 x tbsp. salt

  • Napolitana Sauce 

  • Olive oil

  • 1 x Sacla tomato basil jar of sauce (from supermarket)

  • 3 x tbsp. of Leggo’s tomato paste

  • 1 x jar of water

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

  • 1 x Onion


  • 1.

    Add 1 x tblsp of salt in pot of water

  • 2.

    Peel potatoes and cut into quarters, place into pot for approx. 15-20 mins (bring to boil over high heat until potatoes are soft)

  • 3.

    Once cooked, strain the water off the potatoes into large bowl

  • 4.

    Add 1 x egg

  • 5.

    Mash potatoes till a good consistency is reached

  • 6.

    Place contents on wooden board, put flour on board to stop mixture sticking

  • 7.

    Roll and cut gnocchi into appropriate sizes

  • 8.

    Add gnocchi to a pot of boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Once they rise to the surface your gnocchi is ready

  • Napolitana Sauce:

  • 1.

    Dice onion and put into pot with olive oil and sauté for approx. 5 mins

  • 2.

    Add jar of sauce, Leggo’s paste, and jar of water

  • 3.

    Allow to simmer for approx. 20-30 mins
